The second day of Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH at the Borgata Poker Open has come to an end after roughly ten hours of play with six players all accepting an adjusted payout deal.
A total of 837 entry slips were sold for this event, creating a $211,092 prize pool that just slipped by the guarantee.
The six players remaining at the end of the night all split up the remaining $129,505 with Ory Hen pulling the lion's share for $35,250. Although Hen took down the biggest prize, it was Kenny Nguyen who ended up with the Borgata Poker Open trophy.

2019 Borgata Poker Open Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH Final Day Action
The second day of Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH had just 150 players return of the 837 entries that were accumulated.
It took just under two hours of play before the bubble popped, and unfortunately for Kastriot Gjelaj, he was the last person to not make the money. Gjelaj moved all in with ace-ten, only to run into the pocket kings of James Oconnor. Gjelaj failed to catch up, sending the pot to Oconnor who popped the bubble and the remaining 81 players were all guaranteed a $528 payday.
As per usual, the field quickly depleted upon reaching the money with many familiar faces hitting the wayside. Will Givens was one of them. He ran up a stack late on the second flight but could not land a card against Gary Gelman when it counted the most, and he was eliminated early in the money.
Once the tournament was down to the final three tables, it was Kenny Nguyen who took over. Nguyen built his stack up to over a million and then struck gold with ace-queen against pocket queens, eliminating an opponent with a lucky runout.
Only moments after, Michael Cohen moved all in with king-jack for 1.5 million from the hijack, and Nguyen woke up with big slick in the big blind, sending Cohen out as he secured a massive stack that he brought to the final two tables.
Nguyen led the final seventeen redraw, and it was not long before the players started to fall. Dean Chimienti, Leonard Sande, and William Baxavaneos all took an exit soon. William Mcallister, Gerard Carbery, and Tony Anitra all held on a little bit longer but still failed to see the final table.
The final ten took to their seats, and it was Arie Praisman with the lead after running over the final two tables. It would not take long until a first victim headed to the payout desk in Geoffrey Girgis who shoved his two blinds into the middle with deuce-three of diamonds. Nguyen called with his king-queen, turning two pair as Girgis took an exit in tenth place.
Jacob Edelman was another short stack who jammed from the small blind and Ory Hen looked him up. Edelman tabled jack-ten, and Hen turned over king-nine. Neither player hit anything, and Hen took down the pot, eliminating Edelman.
Nick Palma brought a decent stack to start the final table. After a few small pots were lost, he looked down at a pair of tens and three-bet all in over the open of Nguyen who snap-called with ace-queen. The flop came down with an ace, and the rest is history as Palma was eliminated in eighth place.
The last person to take an exit before an adjusted payout was agreed upon was Yehuda Balin in seventh. Balin battled as well as anyone, prolonging his eventual demise to the maximum. He found a good spot to secure a double up with his deuce-four of hearts on a two heart flop with a wheel draw, but Nguyen had other plans. Nguyen tabled six-five for bottom pair. Nguyen managed to fade the turn and river, sending Balin out in seventh.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) final table is glinting in the distance like a bracelet in the sun, and before the chips start to fly, you can speculate on who will clinch the top prize.
Just as casinos in Vegas have started to release their betting lines, PokerStars has followed suit with its own selection of odds. BetStars, the sports betting axis of PokerStars, is now accepting bets for the WSOP finale.
Unsurprisingly, chip leader and online poker pioneer Cliff Josephy is the favorite at +175 (7/4), but that’s where the correlation between chips and odds comes to an end.
Second on the odds table but third in chips is San Francisco’s Gordon Vayo at +450 (9.2). Despite holding 18 million fewer chips than second place Qui Nguyen, Vayo is one of the most experienced players remaining.
Vayo Could be a Threat
With 26 WSOP cashes and career earnings of $974,714 heading into the finale, Vayo is arguably the biggest threat to Josephy’s push for the $8 million top prize. Third in the betting line at +500 (5/1) is another WSOP veteran, Kenny Hallaert.
Holding 43 million chips, Hallaert is currently fourth in chips, but thanks to final table appearances on the European Poker Tour (EPT) and the WSOP, he’s now among the betting favorites. Looking further down the roster, chip minnow Fernando Pons is way out in ether with odds of +5,000 (50/1).
Aside from the WSOP betting market being a chance for fans of the game to speculate on the most important final table of the year, it’s also a chance for BetStars to bring some sports bettors over to poker.
Attracting Sports Bettors
Continuing the trend of great convergence between iGaming entities, PokerStars’ decision to offer WSOP betting is a small but potentially effective way of getting sports bettors interested enough in poker that they ante-up at the tables.
Of course, betting on the WSOP final table isn’t anything new. But given the current push by operators to bring more casual players into the game, this year’s market seems to have slightly more significance.
The WSOP Main Event final table kicks off on October 30 and play will continue until one man picks up all the chips, a shiny new bracelet, and $8 million.
